Pigs

Kune Kune

The Kune Kune pigs origin is unknown, but were possibly introduced to New Zealand by Chinese cooks on sailing ships that visited New Zealand around Captain Cook's time.  Kune Kune pigs have characteristic cheek tassels and short snouts.

They are very friendly and have a gentle nature.  Kune Kune pigs make great pets, and can be taught tricks like sitting on command.

Captain Cookers

First introduced by Captain Cook in 1769 - 70, Captain Cooker pigs are found throughout New Zealand and are highly prized by hunters for their lean tasty meat. Come to Paradise Valley Springs where you will get to know Barney the boar, and his Captain Cooker family.
